What's New Auto-Translate is a browser extension that translates app release notes and writes them into the “What's New” field of an App Store Connect app version. This policy explains exactly what the extension does with data.
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| The release-notes text you type or paste into the extension panel | To translate it, and to save it to your app version | Sent to translate.googleapis.com for translation, and to
appstoreconnect.apple.com to be saved |
| Your app's ID, version IDs, localization IDs and locale codes | To list the languages on the selected version and write to the correct localization records | Stays between your browser and appstoreconnect.apple.com |
| Your last-used release-notes text and source language | Convenience, so the panel is pre-filled next time | Stored locally on your own computer via chrome.storage.local.
Never transmitted. Removed when you uninstall the extension. |
appstoreconnect.apple.com.Translation is performed by Google Translate. The text you enter is sent to Google's translation endpoint in order to be translated, and Google's handling of that request is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. If you would rather not send text to Google, do not use the extension — no text is transmitted unless you click “Translate & fill”.
Saving is performed against App Store Connect, using your own authenticated browser session. Apple's handling of that request is governed by Apple's own privacy terms.

The only data retained anywhere is the last text and source language you used, held locally in your browser profile. Uninstalling the extension deletes it. You can also clear it at any time from Chrome's extension settings.
The extension is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date.
